Bishop Monsengwo wants Félix Tshisekedi’s mandate to be beneficial to God’s people

On this Sunday, April 21, 2019, where Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, which is a great festival of liberation and deliverance, the President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo was the host of the Catholic Church at the Parish Our Lady of Congo in Lingwala commune, where he took part in Easter Mass.

Cardinal Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya, Archbishop Emeritus of Kinshasa presided over this Eucharist.

“I came to share with you, the parishioners of the Cathedral Notre Dame du Congo, the announcement and the joy of the paschal ministry. Our Lord came out alive from the grave and he lives, he is with us as he promised, Math 28:20, “said Monsignor Laurent Monsengwo. He stressed that “our hope is in the grave”. For the clergy of Kinshasa, the gesture of the President of the Republic on Easter Day is interpreted as the resurrection of the Congolese nation.

The Catholic Prelate addressed the Christians saying that “the President of the Republic has come to give thanks for his advent at the head of the country.” He expressed the wish that Felix Tshisekedi’s mandate would be beneficial to the good of the people of God.

He then finished his homily by thanking the faithful of the parish of Notre Dame du Congo, for the warm welcome given to the Head of State and his entire team.
