Tops Friendly Markets is collaborating with the Boy Scouts for its annual Scouting for Food event on March 16-23.
This year, the Seneca Waterways Council, Boy Scouts of America is teaming up with 18 area Tops locations to collect food for area banks. Donations can be dropped off throughout the week at the following stores.
Canandaigua: 5150 North St.
Clifton Springs: 76 Kendall St.
Cooperstown: 321 Liberty St.
Farmington: 6179 state Route 96.
Greece: 3507 Mount Read Blvd.
Hamlin: 1800 Lake Road.
Henrietta: 1215 Jefferson Road.
Hilton: 98 South Ave.
Irondequoit: 999 E. Ridge Road.
Ontario: 6272 Furnace Road.
Rochester: 2345 Buffalo Road, 1900 S. Clinton Ave., 1601 Penfield Road, 285 Upper Falls Blvd. and 450 West Ave.
Spencerport: 27 Slayton Ave.
Walworth: 2140 Walworth-Penfield Road.
Waterloo: 1963 Kingdom Plaza.
Scouts will be on-site to collect donations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 16-17, 6 to 8 p.m. on March 18-22 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 23.
Suggested nonperishable items for donation include, but are not limited to, pasta, rice, canned items, peanut butter, soups, juices, cereal, paper products and toiletries. Glass containers are not accepted.
“The Scouting for Food drive is in its 31st year,” said Stephen Hoitt, Scout executive and CEO for Seneca Waterways Council. “It is our single largest community service project for our Scouts, as it impacts thousands of families in need throughout our five-county area. Our partnership with Tops Friendly Markets has been instrumental in being able to help replenish food supplies at more than 60 neighborhood food pantries and hunger relief agencies.”
